US Embassy sources have told The Straits Times that the FAA has concluded that the DGAC may take five to seven years to correct some of the glaring deficiencies that prevent Indonesian airlines from being upgraded to a level where flights to the US can resume.

The EU ban is not quite so severe, but safety administrator Federico Grandini says it will not be lifted until airlines have taken remedial actions and the DGAC implements 10 recommendations agreed on at a working conference in Bandung in January.

...

Mr Grandini says the Indonesian authorities have to begin focusing on adequately redressing their safety oversight of air carriers, instead of continuing what he calls "useless diplomatic attempts" to overturn the ban.

Adam Air KI 574 PK-KKW:
US Embassy sources say analysts at the US National Transport Safety Board have already sent the results of the read-out from the devices to the DGAC and that a final report on the crash is expected in the next few weeks.

Wah, berarti bentar lagi ketauan penyebab jatuh-nya Adam Air?

---> About this topic: I don't want this topic to discuss about: should EU ban us or not! Discuss about what the thread starter has asked!

Saya masih bingung kenapa negara kita lebih sewot mengenai EU ban daripada FAA kategori II kalau menurut straits times ternyata lebih parah FAA Kategori II?

"useless diplomatic attempts"

Apa yah itu? Mungkin "mari kita rame2 pesen airbus biar kita nggak kena ban"
