Agak bingung juga menilainya karena semua tipe engine dicampur...., sementara setiap tipe engine (piston, turboprop, jet, rocket) itu itu punya peruntukannya sendiri (beda kelas)

Akan lebih pas kalo dibikinnya terpisah seperti jet terbaik, turboprop terbaik, piston prop terbaik, dan rocket terbaik....

Ditambah lagi era2nya dicampur, ada mesin keluaran jaman WW2 dan era Warkop sekaligus (tapi era Millenium koq gak ada ya??), sementara engine itu sendiri sebenarnya ber-evolusi seiring jaman. Tipe yang terbaru adalah penyempurnaan dari sebelumnya seiring tuntutan safety, ekonomi, lingkungan dan perkembangan ilmu metalurgi, dimana yang terbaru itu belum tentu lebih baik dari sisi2 tertentu

Ada lagi aspek personality, setiap merek mesin pasti akan mengklaim engine-nya adalah yang terbaik di kelasnya (iya dong ada gak kecap no.2...?), dan setiap person yang mengoperate sebuah engine secara psikologis bisa mengatakan engine "A" adalah yang terbaik jika ia memiliki pengalaman yang baik bersama engine "A", padahal belum nyoba engine "B" dan punya pengalaman buruk ama engine "C"

nah bagaimana dengan engine2 seperti BMW 801, Jumo 210, Wright R-3350, PW JT3D, Lycoming O-320, Continental O-200, Packard V-1650, Allison T-56 dan RB 211 series ?

belum lagi ada Kusnetsov NK-12, NK-86, Klimov TV3, Mikulin AM-3M-500, Soloview D-30, ZKMB D-36, D-18 dkk...[X(]

mungkin ada dari engine2 ini bukan yang terbaik, tapi karena mereka jugalah terlahir engine2 yang terbaik, dan nantinya akan bisa dibuat engine yang lebih baik dari yang terbaik saat ini

tapi kalo dari pool ini saya akan milih RR Dart, abis buat saya rada ajaib nih desain mesin turbin yang bentuknya persis pompa air begitu juga suaranya

Emang menarik sih kalau browsing-browsing di Wikipedia soal mesin pesawat, isinya pun banyak sekali, bahkan sampai yang kita jarang denger seperti Sunbeam, yang make2 nama suku2 bangsa di dunia untuk menamai mesin-mesin buatannya.

Mungkin ini maksudnya engine yang sudah terbukti kali ya. Makanya yang jaman sekarang ga di masukkin.
PW ga ada yak? Yang dipake dari Boeing 707 ampe Boeing B-52... [;)]

Or...RB211 (emang bener merdu kalo engine light-up!) yang membuat Rolls Royce hampir bangkrut... [;)]
